Roberts, the new version,states under the call of the Bokmakierie, that it is allegedly a mimic of the call of the Piet-my-vrou. This is no longer alleged. Anniza De Villiers watched a Bokmakierie in her garden , and it imitated the call of the Red chested Cuckoo (Piet-my-Vrou) for about 10 minutes. So when you think you have heard him in future ,please make sure it is not the Bokmakierie fooling us. We are never too old to learn something new.
